UPPER AREA: LA PALMITA AND LAS ROSAS
The valley of La Palmita extends from the hamlet of Meriga to El Chorro, passing through the hamlet of La Palmita, which gives it its name.
The valley of Las Rosas occupies the territory that extends from the hamlet of Cruz de Tierno to the hamlet of Las Rosas, from which it takes its name. And in the middle of both is the hamlet of Juego de Bolas, where the Visitor Center of Garajonay National Park is located.
In this area of the municipality has predominated the agriculture of self-consumption, cereals, legumes, fruit and vegetables, crops typical of the meddle regions favored by the presence of very fertile soils by the organic contribution of the ancient forest mass and the humidity of trade winds. Forest resources were also important for the development of agricultural and livestock activities.
