AGRICULTURE AND GASTRONOMY
There is a limited amount of local products on offer, since they are mainly used for family consumption, but what are available can be found in supermarkets or are sold in different neighbourhoods. It is also possible to try gofio, wine, potatoes and vegetables, yams, watercress, tasty bananas and tropical fruit at local bars and restaurants. Other artisanal products, such as cookies and curds, can be bought in local stores or in neighbouring Hermigua. The old wood stoves, which can be found in some village homes, are still in use, but only seasonally, not for commercial production.
