FESTIVITIES OF SANTA ROSA DE LIMA
(August 17-23)
One of the most visited festivals of our municipality and the island of La Gomera are those of Santa Rosa de Lima in the neighborhood of Las Rosas, which are commemorated on the 3rd Sunday of August.
This festival combines the chácaras and drums, the procession accompanied throughout the tour by the bailadores (folk dancers) and players, with the smell of pig meat from the street stalls (called Ventorrillos in spanish) and the good wine from La Gomera.
This festival means much more than a celebration for the inhabitants of the neighborhood of Las Rosas as it involves the meeting with all the family and friends who, although they come from this corner of the municipality of Agulo, reside outside it and return to celebrate the feast of Santa Rosa de Lima.
